AccuPAX® Battery Master Switch |
AccuPAX® is an intelligent 2-Pole, Bi-stable, electro-mechanical battery master switch with mechanical locking. It is approved for hazardous goods transport. It incorporates a micro controller to monitor and operate several safety functions that is unavailable on older style battery isolator switches, and it's suitable for 12V and 24V systems.
The prime function of the AccuPAX® is to disconnect and isolate the main battery positive and negative circuits of the vehicle or engine plant to render it safe and/or inoperable. It may be wired and operated directly at the control panel on the switch face to replace existing products. Significantly more sophisticated control systems can be implented, with multiple safety isolators located in the cabin or elsewhere at desired locations around the vehicle. AccuPAX® can also be activated by an external trigger like a roll-over sensor.
In normal situations, AccuPAX® will step through a pre-programmed shut-down sequence, ensuring the safe disconnection of on board engine management systems to avoid data corruption. Incorporated in this sequence is an alternator field isolation procedure to prevent damage to the alternator, battery and electrical system due to voltage surges.
In emergency shut down situations, such as in the event of a roll over, AccuPAX® will disconnect all power immediately via the emergency shut down switch, or via the optional roll over detection device.
AccuPAX® constantly monitors the system voltage and will disconnect the battery if the system voltage falls below the user selected safety level, to prevent damage to the electrical system.
The AccuPAX® has been designed to comply with Australian Standards AS 2809.2 and European ADR 2005.
In addition to the roll-over sensor, optional equipment includes lock-out guards, switches and cable harnesses to facilitate easy installation of the AccuPAX® unit.
